Radius Engineering, Model EC-60 Balcony View
Radius Engineering, Model EC-60 Kitchen
Modeled and rendered for Radius Engineering, this
image is from an animated 'Fly-Thru' (see animation page)depicting an
elaborate underground disaster shelter. The scene was created using
basic CAD drawings of the 'EC-60' structure and reference photos of the
mechanical components. The furnishings and style of the surroundings were
provided by the artist based on instructions from the client to illustrate
the 'warmth and spaciousness' of the structure.
Prior to this interpretation, Radius Engineering did not have
images to provide to prospective customers as this model had yet to be
built. Consequently, a structure has been sold and is now under
construction at a location on the Eastern seaboard.
This is a composite rendering of a laser projection system and a
photographed background. The computer generated objects in the
foreground appear to cast shadows onto the empty photographed background image by including
invisible 'polygonal surfaces' in the scene, thus completing the
illusion.
A full color re-creation of a scene originally rendered in a black &
white lithiograph by M. C. Escher, entitled 'Reptiles'. In Eschers'
version, the reptiles crawl off the page of the sketchbook and walk over the
objects in the scene and return to the sketchbook. This will
eventually be an interesting animation. Stay tuned!
